The Starting Point
When APAGBI approached Praxiis they were seeking a more modern and streamlined way to manage their membership base. As an influential organisation representing paediatric anaesthetists across Great Britain and Ireland it was vital that their digital infrastructure reflect the professionalism and efficiency of their operations.
At the heart of their requirement was a desire for a robust flexible system that could manage their entire membership lifecycle, provide a foundation for events and transactions, and integrate smoothly with their existing website. Leveraging Microsoft Power Platform including Power Apps and Dataverse, Praxiis set out to build a solution that was tailored to their unique needs.
A Purpose Built Membership Platform
As with all our projects we began by working closely with APAGBI to understand their goals and operational processes. Together we shaped a solution architecture rooted in the Power Platform, underpinned by structured work tracking in Azure DevOps and a collaborative approach to backlog refinement.
The result was a centralised membership management system built in Power Apps that serves as the operational core for APAGBI’s team. It handles all membership records from new registrations to renewals and stores structured member specific data in a secure scalable Dataverse environment.
From the outset the platform was designed not just for administrative ease but also for interoperability. The backend integrates with APAGBI’s front end website allowing members to log in and view key membership details through a dedicated portal interface.
Supporting Events and Engagement
Alongside membership management the solution includes an event tracking feature. This enables APAGBI to create manage and monitor events ranging from in person conferences to online webinars. Booking functionality is built in, streamlining the member experience and easing the administrative burden of managing attendee lists and payments.
Transactions such as membership renewals and event registrations are recorded and tracked, giving the APAGBI team full visibility into their operations through Power Apps. This has enhanced operational clarity and allowed for more data informed decisions across their engagement strategies.
Integration and Simplicity
Key to the project’s success was the integration with APAGBI’s existing website allowing members to self serve where appropriate—whether accessing event information, reviewing their membership status or initiating transactions. This seamless connection between the public facing site and the Power Platform backend creates a unified digital experience that is both user friendly and operationally sound.
By focusing on simplicity and effectiveness we ensured that the platform could be easily maintained and extended in the future, supporting APAGBI’s evolving needs without unnecessary complexity.
Conclusion
The collaboration with APAGBI showcases how the Microsoft Power Platform can be used to build tailored efficient membership systems without overengineering. From member management and event coordination to website integration and transaction tracking the solution delivered by Praxiis provides a reliable digital foundation for APAGBI’s continued growth and engagement.
Our work with APAGBI reflects our commitment to delivering high quality pragmatic solutions that enhance operational clarity and member experience while ensuring that organisations maintain full ownership and control of their data and tools.
